Let’s Hangout in Space!

SpaceX’s Crew-1 Mission has successfully docked at the International Space Station (ISS) on November 16th. It is possible for average people to go to space. I am very excited because we can see space with our own eys in real life and not just in pictures. On the other hand, I am quite worried about the many technological and health complication that could happen to an untrained individual going to space.

Many companies are talking about tourists going to space as their next planned vacation. Just imagine first day back from summer break, I would be bragging about playing Mozart’s Concerto number 5 on the violin by memory, while another classmate slowly drops that he and his family vacationed on the moon. It seems that for a very long time, this luxurious expereience will be exclusively available for those who are rich. We are not talking about First Class seats rich, more like Iron Man kind of rich!

These days, people work so hard to raise awearness about being eco friendly. We work hard to reduce carbon fooprint by eating less meat, carpooling to school, recycling waste, and buying less in general. It is a little hypocritacal for us to promote space tourism while everybody else is working hard to stop global warming.

I am very curious and eager to go to space to see if it is really as amazing as NASA’s pictures delineates. However, I am hesitant because of the many potential health hazards and the wastful means of travel. I shall wait until we invent a more eco friendly space rocket fuel before I make my first extraterrestrial steps. What do you think about space travel?
